Applied Optoelectronics provides fiber-optic networking products, for four networking end-markets: internet data center, cable television, telecommunications, and fiber-to-the-home. Co. designs and manufactures a range of optical communications products at varying levels of integration, from components, subassemblies and modules to complete turn-key equipment. Co.'s components often incorporate one or more of its optical laser chips inside a precision housing that provides mechanical protection as well as standardized electrical contacts. Other optical components may also include optical filters or other optical elements by which optical signals are routed internally within the component. The AAOI stock yearly return is shown above.
The yearly return on the AAOI stock yearly return page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annual return over the calendar year 2015 for the given stock.
When performing this calculation it is important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annual return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon.
One way to factor dividends into the return is simply to count them as cash — we don't do
that here. Instead, our website aims to empower investors
by performing the AAOI annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
