American Vanguard is a holding company. Through its subsidiary, AMVAC Chemical Corporation (AMVAC), Co. is a specialty chemical manufacturer that develops and markets products for agricultural, commercial and consumer uses. Co. manufactures and formulates chemicals for crops, turf and ornamental plants, and human and animal health protection. These chemicals, which include insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, molluscicides, growth regulators, and soil fumigants, are marketed in liquid, powder, and granular forms. AMVAC primarily synthesizes, formulates, and distributes its own proprietary products or custom manufactures, formulates or distributes for others. The AVD stock yearly return is shown above.
The yearly return on the AVD stock yearly return page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annual return over the calendar year 2018 for the given stock.
When performing this calculation it is important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annual return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon.
One way to factor dividends into the return is simply to count them as cash — we don't do
that here. Instead, our website aims to empower investors
by performing the AVD annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
