Chesapeake Granite Wash Trust is a statutory trust, which is engaged in owning royalty interests for the benefit of its unitholders. The royalty interests are derived from Chesapeake Energy Corporation (Chesapeake)'s interests in specified oil and natural gas properties located in the Colony Granite Wash play in Washita County in the Anadarko Basin of western Oklahoma. Chesapeake conveyed the royalty interests to Co. from Chesapeake's interests in the producing wells and the development wells. The CHKR average annual return since 2021 is shown above.
The Average Annual Return on the CHKR average annual return since 2021 page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annualized return over the past ten years (or specified start date) for a given investment
(up to the end of prior trading session recorded). Arguably, choosing ten years for a measurement
period is on the one hand completely arbitrary, but on the other hand provides a sufficiently long window
to capture long-term trends.
Thus, researching Average Annual Returns is good practice for investors — whether CHKR average annual return since 2021 or other benchmarks/peers
— and when doing so it is also important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annualized return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon. Our website aims to empower investors
by performing the CHKR average annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
