The U.S. Retail segment includes stores operated in the U.S. under the DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW) banner and its related e-commerce site. The Canada Retail segment operates The Shoe Company, Shoe Warehouse, and DSW banners through its Canada stores and e-commerce sites. The Brand Portfolio segment sells wholesale products to retailers, serves retailers as the design and buying agent for products under private labels, and sells branded products through the direct-to-consumer e-commerce site. The DBI stock yearly return is shown above.
The yearly return on the DBI stock yearly return page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annual return over the calendar year 2014 for the given stock.
When performing this calculation it is important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annual return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon.
One way to factor dividends into the return is simply to count them as cash — we don't do
that here. Instead, our website aims to empower investors
by performing the DBI annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
