Grindrod Shipping Holdings is a holding company. Through its subsidiaries, Co. is an international shipping company that owns, charters-in and operates a fleet of drybulk carriers and tankers. Co. owns some of its vessels directly and some of its vessels in joint venture arrangements. Co. operates two businesses primarily in: the drybulk carriers business, which transport a range of major and minor bulk and breakbulk commodities, including ores, coal, grains, forestry products, steel products and fertilizers along worldwide shipping routes; and the tankers business, which carries petroleum products such as petrol, diesel, jet fuel and naptha, and dirty products, such as heavy fuel oil. The GRIN average annual return since 2018 is shown above.
The Average Annual Return on the GRIN average annual return since 2018 page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annualized return over the past ten years (or specified start date) for a given investment
(up to the end of prior trading session recorded). Arguably, choosing ten years for a measurement
period is on the one hand completely arbitrary, but on the other hand provides a sufficiently long window
to capture long-term trends.
Thus, researching Average Annual Returns is good practice for investors — whether GRIN average annual return since 2018 or other benchmarks/peers
— and when doing so it is also important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annualized return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon. Our website aims to empower investors
by performing the GRIN average annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
