MP Materials is a producer of rare earth materials in the Western Hemisphere. Co. owns and operates the Mountain Pass Rare Earth Mine and Processing Facility. Separated rare earth elements (REE) are inputs for magnets that enable the mobility of electric vehicles, drones, defense systems, wind turbines, robotics and other technologies. Co. produces a rare earth concentrate that it sells pursuant to the amended and restated offtake agreement with Shenghe Resources (Singapore) International Trading Pte. Ltd., that, in turn, sells that product to refiners in China. These refiners separate the constituent REE contained in Co.'s concentrate and sell the separated products to their customers. The MP average annual return since 2020 is shown above.
The Average Annual Return on the MP average annual return since 2020 page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annualized return over the past ten years (or specified start date) for a given investment
(up to the end of prior trading session recorded). Arguably, choosing ten years for a measurement
period is on the one hand completely arbitrary, but on the other hand provides a sufficiently long window
to capture long-term trends.
Thus, researching Average Annual Returns is good practice for investors — whether MP average annual return since 2020 or other benchmarks/peers
— and when doing so it is also important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annualized return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon. Our website aims to empower investors
by performing the MP average annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
