The Fund's primary investment objective is to provide a high level of current income exempt from regular federal income tax with a secondary objective of obtaining additional total return. Under general circumstances, the Fund will invest at least 80% of its managed assets in municipal securities and other related investments, the income from which is exempt from regular federal income tax. The Fund will invest at least 50% of its managed assets in investment grade municipal securities and it also may invest in below investment grade securities. The NIQ average annual return since 2025 is shown above.
The Average Annual Return on the NIQ average annual return since 2025 page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annualized return over the past ten years (or specified start date) for a given investment
(up to the end of prior trading session recorded). Arguably, choosing ten years for a measurement
period is on the one hand completely arbitrary, but on the other hand provides a sufficiently long window
to capture long-term trends.
Thus, researching Average Annual Returns is good practice for investors — whether NIQ average annual return since 2025 or other benchmarks/peers
— and when doing so it is also important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annualized return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon. Our website aims to empower investors
by performing the NIQ average annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
