Western Midstream Partners owns partnership interests in Western Gas Partners, LP (WES), which is engaged in the business of gathering, compressing, treating, processing and transporting natural gas; gathering, stabilizing and transporting condensate, natural gas liquids (NGLs) and crude oil; and gathering and disposing of produced water. In addition, in its capacity as a processor of natural gas, WES also buys and sells natural gas, NGLs and condensate on behalf of itself and as agent for its customers under certain of its contracts. WES provides these midstream services for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and its subsidiaries, as well as for third-party producers and customers. The WGP average annual return since 2012 is shown above.
The Average Annual Return on the WGP average annual return since 2012 page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annualized return over the past ten years (or specified start date) for a given investment
(up to the end of prior trading session recorded). Arguably, choosing ten years for a measurement
period is on the one hand completely arbitrary, but on the other hand provides a sufficiently long window
to capture long-term trends.
Thus, researching Average Annual Returns is good practice for investors — whether WGP average annual return since 2012 or other benchmarks/peers
— and when doing so it is also important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annualized return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon. Our website aims to empower investors
by performing the WGP average annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
