Alcentra Capital is an externally managed, non-diversified closed-end management investment company. Co.'s investment objective is to generate both existing income and to a lesser extent capital appreciation primarily by making direct investments in middle-market companies. These investments are in the form of first lien, second lien, unitranche debt and, to a lesser extent, mezzanine debt. The ABDC stock yearly return is shown above.
The yearly return on the ABDC stock yearly return page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annual return over the calendar year 2016 for the given stock.
When performing this calculation it is important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annual return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon.
One way to factor dividends into the return is simply to count them as cash — we don't do
that here. Instead, our website aims to empower investors
by performing the ABDC annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
