AerCap Holdings is a holding company. Through its subsidiaries, Co. is engaged in aircraft leasing. Co. leases most of its aircraft to airlines under operating leases. Under these leases, the lessee is responsible for the maintenance and servicing of the equipment during the lease term and Co. receives the benefit, and assumes the risks, of the residual value of the equipment at the end of the lease. Co. also provides cash management and administrative services to securitization vehicles and joint ventures. Cash management services consist primarily of treasury services. Co.'s administrative services consist primarily of accounting and corporate secretarial services. The AER stock yearly return is shown above.
The yearly return on the AER stock yearly return page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annual return over the calendar year 2011 for the given stock.
When performing this calculation it is important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annual return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon.
One way to factor dividends into the return is simply to count them as cash — we don't do
that here. Instead, our website aims to empower investors
by performing the AER annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
