BlackRock Municipal Income Trust is a closed-end management investment company. The Trust investment objective is to provide current income exempt from regular United States federal income tax. The Trust seeks to attain its investment objective by investing primarily in municipal bonds that pay interest that is exempt from United States federal income taxes. The Trust invests, under normal market conditions, at least 80% of its assets in municipal bonds that are investment grade, or if unrated, deemed to be of comparable quality by the investment adviser, at the time of investment. The Trust may invest directly in such securities or synthetically through the use of derivatives. The BFK stock yearly return is shown above.
The yearly return on the BFK stock yearly return page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annual return over the calendar year 2014 for the given stock.
When performing this calculation it is important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annual return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon.
One way to factor dividends into the return is simply to count them as cash — we don't do
that here. Instead, our website aims to empower investors
by performing the BFK annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
