BP Prudhoe Bay Royalty Trust is a business trust. The Bank of New York Mellon Trust Company, N.A. is the trustee of Co. The property of Co. consists of an overriding royalty interest (the Royalty Interest) and cash and cash equivalents held by the trustee from time to time. The Royalty Interest entitles Co. to a royalty on 16.4246% of the lesser of the first 90,000 barrels of the average actual daily net production of crude oil and condensate per quarter from the working interest of BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc. in the Prudhoe Bay oil field located on the North Slope in Alaska or the average actual daily net production of crude oil and condensate per quarter from that working interest. The BPT stock yearly return is shown above.
The yearly return on the BPT stock yearly return page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annual return over the calendar year 2018 for the given stock.
When performing this calculation it is important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annual return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon.
One way to factor dividends into the return is simply to count them as cash — we don't do
that here. Instead, our website aims to empower investors
by performing the BPT annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
