BlackRock Credit Allocation Income Trust is a closed-end management investment company. The Trust's investment objective is to provide current income, current gains and capital appreciation. The Trust invests in, under normal market conditions, at least 80% of its assets in credit-related securities, including, but not limited to, investment grade corporate bonds, high yield bonds (commonly referred to as junk bonds), bank loans, preferred securities or convertible bonds or derivatives with economic characteristics similar to these credit-related securities. The Trust may invest directly in such securities or synthetically through the use of derivatives. The BTZ stock yearly return is shown above.
The yearly return on the BTZ stock yearly return page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annual return over the calendar year 2014 for the given stock.
When performing this calculation it is important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annual return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon.
One way to factor dividends into the return is simply to count them as cash — we don't do
that here. Instead, our website aims to empower investors
by performing the BTZ annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
