PowerShares DB Oil Fund is a separate series of PowerShares DB Multi-Sector Commodity Trust. The Fund seeks to track the changes, whether positive or negative, in the level of the DBIQ Optimum Yield Crude Oil Index Excess Return (the Index) over time, plus the excess, if any, of the Fund's interest income from its holdings of United States Treasury Obligations and other high credit quality short-term fixed income securities over the expenses of the Fund. The Index is intended to reflect the change in market value of the crude oil sector. As of Dec 31 2013, the Fund's total assets were $312,360,942 and its total investment portfolio was $291,974,268. The DBO stock yearly return is shown above.
The yearly return on the DBO stock yearly return page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annual return over the calendar year 2020 for the given stock.
When performing this calculation it is important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annual return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon.
One way to factor dividends into the return is simply to count them as cash — we don't do
that here. Instead, our website aims to empower investors
by performing the DBO annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
