Co. conducts its business through its wholly owned subsidiaries, EARN OP GP LLC and Ellington Residential Mortgage LP. Co. acquires and manages residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS), for which the principal and interest payments are guaranteed by a United States government agency or a United States government-sponsored entity, and RMBS that do not carry such guarantees, such as RMBS backed by prime jumbo, Alternative A-paper, manufactured housing, and subprime residential mortgage loans. The EARN stock yearly return is shown above.
The yearly return on the EARN stock yearly return page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annual return over the calendar year 2014 for the given stock.
When performing this calculation it is important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annual return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon.
One way to factor dividends into the return is simply to count them as cash — we don't do
that here. Instead, our website aims to empower investors
by performing the EARN annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
