Erie Indemnity is an attorney-in-fact for the subscribers (policyholders) at the Erie Insurance Exchange (Exchange), a reciprocal insurer that writes property and casualty insurance. Co.'s main function as attorney-in-fact is to perform policy issuance and renewal services on behalf of the subscribers at the Exchange. Co. also acts as attorney-in-fact on behalf of the Exchange with respect to claims handling and investment management services, as well as the service provider for the claims handling, life insurance, and investment management services for its insurance subsidiaries. Co. provides policy issuance and renewal services related to the sales, underwriting and issuance of policies. The ERIE stock yearly return is shown above.
The yearly return on the ERIE stock yearly return page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annual return over the calendar year 2015 for the given stock.
When performing this calculation it is important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annual return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon.
One way to factor dividends into the return is simply to count them as cash — we don't do
that here. Instead, our website aims to empower investors
by performing the ERIE annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
