Eaton Vance Tax-Managed Buy-Write Income is registered as a diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Fund's primary investment objective is to provide current income and gains, with a secondary objective of capital appreciation. The Fund invests in a diversified portfolio of common stocks and writes call options on one or more United States indices on a substantial portion of the value of its common stock portfolio to generate current earnings from the option premium. The Fund evaluates returns on an after tax basis and seeks to minimize and defer federal income taxes incurred by shareholders in connection with their investment in the Fund. The ETB stock yearly return is shown above.
The yearly return on the ETB stock yearly return page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annual return over the calendar year 2021 for the given stock.
When performing this calculation it is important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annual return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon.
One way to factor dividends into the return is simply to count them as cash — we don't do
that here. Instead, our website aims to empower investors
by performing the ETB annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
