First Trust Senior Floating Rate Income Fund II is a closed-end management investment company. The Fund's primary investment objective is to provide a high level of income. As a secondary objective, the Fund attempts to preserve capital. The Fund pursues its investment objectives by investing primarily in a portfolio of senior secured floating-rate corporate loans. Under general market conditions, at least 80% of the Fund's Managed Assets are generally invested in lower grade debt instruments. The FCT stock yearly return is shown above.
The yearly return on the FCT stock yearly return page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annual return over the calendar year 2019 for the given stock.
When performing this calculation it is important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annual return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon.
One way to factor dividends into the return is simply to count them as cash — we don't do
that here. Instead, our website aims to empower investors
by performing the FCT annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
