First Trust Dow Jones STOXX European Select Dividend Index Fund is an open-end management investment company. The Fund seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield of an equity index called the Dow Jones STOXX Select Dividend 30 Index (the Index). The Index is a dividend weighted index of 30 stocks selected from the Dow Jones STOXX 600 Index, which includes high-dividend yielding companies across 18 European countries. As of Sept 30 2009, the Fund's total assets were $8,407,457 and the Fund's investment portfolio was valued at $8,307,400. The FDD stock yearly return is shown above.
The yearly return on the FDD stock yearly return page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annual return over the calendar year 2019 for the given stock.
When performing this calculation it is important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annual return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon.
One way to factor dividends into the return is simply to count them as cash — we don't do
that here. Instead, our website aims to empower investors
by performing the FDD annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
