First Trust Developed Markets ex-US AlphaDEX Fund is an open-end management investment company. The Fund seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield (before the Fund's fees and expenses) of an equity index called the Defined Developed Markets Ex-US Index (the Index). The Index employs the AlphaDEX stock selection methodology which uses fundamental growth and value factors to objectively select stocks from the S&P Developed Markets Ex-US BMI Index which may generate positive alpha relative to traditional passive indices. As of Dec 31 2013, the Fund's total assets were $152,051,769 and the Fund's investment portfolio was valued at $151,877,424. The FDT stock yearly return is shown above.
The yearly return on the FDT stock yearly return page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annual return over the calendar year 2017 for the given stock.
When performing this calculation it is important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annual return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon.
One way to factor dividends into the return is simply to count them as cash — we don't do
that here. Instead, our website aims to empower investors
by performing the FDT annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
