The First Trust Mid Cap Core AlphaDEX Fund (the Fund) focuses on investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield (before the Fund's fees and expenses) of an equity index called the Defined Mid Cap Core Index (the Mid Cap Core Index). The Fund will normally invest at least 90% of its net assets in common stocks that comprise the Mid Cap Core Index. The shares of the Fund are listed and traded on the NYSE Arca under the ticker symbol FNX. As of Jul 31 2014, the Fund's total assets were $878.4 million. The FNX stock yearly return is shown above.
The yearly return on the FNX stock yearly return page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annual return over the calendar year 2017 for the given stock.
When performing this calculation it is important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annual return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon.
One way to factor dividends into the return is simply to count them as cash — we don't do
that here. Instead, our website aims to empower investors
by performing the FNX annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
