Five Star Senior Living operates senior living communities, including independent and assisted living communities and skilled nursing facilities (SNFs). Co. has two operating segments: senior living communities, in which Co. operates for its own account or manages for the account of others independent living communities, assisted living communities, continuing care retirement communities and SNFs that are subject to centralized oversight and provides housing and services to elderly residents; and rehabilitation and wellness, which provides therapy services, including physical, occupational, speech and other therapy services, in the inpatient setting and in outpatient clinics. The FVE stock yearly return is shown above.

The yearly return on the FVE stock yearly return page and across the coverage universe of our site, is a measure of the annual return over the calendar year 2019 for the given stock. When performing this calculation it is important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annual return is more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon.

One way to factor dividends into the return is simply to count them as cash — we don't do that here. Instead, our website aims to empower investors by performing the FVE annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
