First Trust Value Line 100 Exchange-Traded Fund is an open-end management investment company. The Fund seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield of an equity index called the Value Line 100 Index (the Index). The Index is an equal-dollar weighted index that is designed to objectively identify and select 100 stocks from the universe of stocks, to which Value Line assigns a #1 ranking in the Value Line Timeliness Ranking System. The Fund will normally invest at least 90% of its assets in common stocks that comprise the Index. As of Dec 31 2009, the Fund's total assets were $60,675,957 and the Fund's investment portfolio was valued at $60,431,928. The FVL average annual return 10 years is shown above.
The Average Annual Return on the FVL average annual return 10 years page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annualized return over the past ten years (or specified start date) for a given investment
(up to the end of prior trading session recorded). Arguably, choosing ten years for a measurement
period is on the one hand completely arbitrary, but on the other hand provides a sufficiently long window
to capture long-term trends.
Thus, researching Average Annual Returns is good practice for investors — whether FVL average annual return 10 years or other benchmarks/peers
— and when doing so it is also important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annualized return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon. Our website aims to empower investors
by performing the FVL average annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
