First Trust Mid Cap Value AlphaDEX Fund is an open-end management investment company. The Fund seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield of an equity index called the Defined Mid Cap Value Index. The index is a modified equal-dollar weighted index designed by S&P to objectively identify and select stocks from the S&P MidCap 400® Value Index that may generate positive alpha relative to traditional passive-style indices through the use of the AlphaDEX® selection methodology. As of Jul 31 2013, the Fund's total assets were $24,194,140 and the Fund's investment portfolio was valued at $21,302,701. The FYC stock yearly return is shown above.
The yearly return on the FYC stock yearly return page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annual return over the calendar year 2020 for the given stock.
When performing this calculation it is important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annual return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon.
One way to factor dividends into the return is simply to count them as cash — we don't do
that here. Instead, our website aims to empower investors
by performing the FYC annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
