iShares U.S. Basic Materials is an open-end management investment company. The Fund seeks investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance of the Dow Jones U.S. Basic Materials Index (the Index). The Index measures the performance of the basic materials sector of the United States equity market. The Index includes companies in industry groups, such as chemicals, forestry and paper, industrial metals and mining. As of Apr 30 2015, the Fund's total assets and investment portfolio totaled $501,702,619 and $501,396,095, respectively. The IYM stock yearly return is shown above.
The yearly return on the IYM stock yearly return page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annual return over the calendar year 2023 for the given stock.
When performing this calculation it is important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annual return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon.
One way to factor dividends into the return is simply to count them as cash — we don't do
that here. Instead, our website aims to empower investors
by performing the IYM annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
