Roku is a TV streaming platform in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. Co. operates in two reportable segments: the platform segment and the player segment. Platform sales is generated from the sale of digital advertising and related services including its OneView ad platform, content distribution services (such as subscription and transaction revenue shares, media and entertainment promotional spending, the sale of Premium Subscriptions, and the sale of branded channel buttons on remote controls), and licensing arrangements with service operators and TV brands. Player sales is generated primarily from the sale of streaming players and audio products. The ROKU stock yearly return is shown above.
The yearly return on the ROKU stock yearly return page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annual return over the calendar year 2022 for the given stock.
When performing this calculation it is important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annual return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon.
One way to factor dividends into the return is simply to count them as cash — we don't do
that here. Instead, our website aims to empower investors
by performing the ROKU annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
