The San Juan Basin Royalty Trust is an express trust created by the San Juan Basin Royalty Trust Indenture, between Southland Royalty Company (Southland) and The Fort Worth National Bank. Southland conveyed to the Trust a 75% net overriding royalty interest that burdens certain of Southland's oil and natural gas interests (the Subject Interests) in properties located in the San Juan Basin of northwestern New Mexico. Hilcorp San Juan L.P. is the operator of the majority of the Subject Interests. The SJT stock yearly return is shown above.
The yearly return on the SJT stock yearly return page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annual return over the calendar year 2023 for the given stock.
When performing this calculation it is important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annual return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon.
One way to factor dividends into the return is simply to count them as cash — we don't do
that here. Instead, our website aims to empower investors
by performing the SJT annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
