Cushing Energy Income Fund is a non-diversified, closed-end investment company. The Fund's investment objective is to seek a high total return with an emphasis on current income. The Fund, under normal market conditions, invests at least 80% of its assets (net assets plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in a portfolio of energy companies involved in exploring, developing, producing, transporting, gathering and processing, storing, refining, distributing, mining or marketing natural gas, natural gas liquids (including propane), crude oil, refined products or coal. The SRF stock yearly return is shown above.
The yearly return on the SRF stock yearly return page and across the coverage universe of our site,
is a measure of the annual return over the calendar year 2011 for the given stock.
When performing this calculation it is important to factor in dividends, because a financial instrument's annual return is
more than just the change in price if that instrument pays a dividend or coupon.
One way to factor dividends into the return is simply to count them as cash — we don't do
that here. Instead, our website aims to empower investors
by performing the SRF annual return calculation with any dividends reinvested as applicable (on ex-dates).
